President Point-du-Jour and sends greetings:
Jean-Ernest Point-du-Jour, 4th President of Grand Ravine Community Human Rights CouncilJean Ernest Point-du-Jour has managed the Hope For Haiti Scholarship program from the beginning in 2010. He announced to the community that scholarships would be granted to the most impoverished children of the area to keep them at home and off the streets. He has done the supervision of the selection, organizing the students and keeping track of them during the school year. He negotiated the terms of payment with the local schools as it was difficult in the years 1-2 to pay on time.
His words of greeting for our Cultural Celebration May 17th, 2014 GREETINGS TO ALL OF YOU WITH HOPE FOR HAITI:EDUCATION! In the name of the Community Human Rights Council, students, schools, parents, teachers and the whole community of Grand Ravine we render our deepest gratitude to you for the great work you have undertaken for many years especially the scholarship program for the last 4 years. For this demonstration of love we are moved to thank you, the HHE workers, and all the donors everywhere. Since we do not have a representative there this year we send this special message to you to wish you a great cultural evening! Sincerely, Jean-Ernest Point-du-Jour, President |
Dear distinguished friends, guests, sisters and brothers of St. Columba parish:
I greet you in the name of the members of the Community Human Rights Council and in the name of all the victims of the massacres of Aug 2005, and of their daughters and sons who have benefited from the scholarship program started at St. Columba. Thanks to the people of California and to all those who are involved in the different activities in raising funds, to those who are suffering in the community, all those who fight against violence, who lack health care and nutrition. A special thank you to Ms. Elena, Ms. Baptiste, Ms. Jane, Mr. Tom and Ms. Judy Luce, Ms. Florencia, Ms. Gina and all the other collaborators. We hope that next year we will be together to celebrate with you. We are all human rights defenders and contribute to a renewed Grand Ravine because together we are working on the basic rights such as education. Thanks to education there will be a diminishing of children in gangs, a decrease of the number of 14 year old girls troubled with early pregnancies. I cannot hide my affection for St. Columba parish. I beg of God to help you during your activities this 17th of May, 2014. Already I wish you a good success. Even though we are not there physically we are there in spirit. After all we are one family and in spite of all the problems of education, funerals, the parish as well as the scholarship program committee continues to always help us with the scholarships. Therefore we wish you a great celebration, love and peace. May God guide you to next year, and protect you. Thanks so much from the bottom of my heart. Liaison CHRC. |
