President Jean-Ernest Point-du-Jour, Grand Ravine Community Human Rights Council, volunteer manager of the HHE scholarship program welcomed to Oakland at St. Columba parish
After 3 years of designing and managing--voluntarily- the HHE scholarship program for the most deprived children in his community, Jean-Ernest Point-du-Jour, came to Oakland May 16-24, to meet with the HHE committee, supporters, St. Columba parish, and people concerned with Haiti.
He represents the Grand Ravine Community Human Rights Council GR-CHRC (see picture below) that was formed after severe violence due to political strife in '05 to pursue basic human rights following non-violent and non-partisan principles. GR-CHRC is composed of victims and their families, community leaders--religious, educators, civic--and they work as an education and advocacy group--voluntarily.

Pa A Lakay! - Not At Home!
All Children At School Every day!
Mr. Jean-Ernest Point-du-Jour is not only the volunteer manager of the HHE scholarship program. He is a father of 3 children, married; he is a teacher. Below is a YouTube video of Mr. Jean-Ernest teaching a class he visited here with our HHE core member, Michelle Baptiste. Amazing how our kids picked up Haitian Creole! Try to pick it up yourself. He repeats each phrase several times:
All children, To School! Don't sit a home! To school, every day! Don't sit at home! My little school, my big school, my beautiful school; I love it a lot, a lot!
