THANK YOU ST. COLUMBA! - $2,400 IN HURRICANE RELIEF
100 BAGS WITH FOOD/PURE WATER.
The slideshow below was photographed on Nov. 16, 2016 at the Orion school, one of our four schools where our 100 students attend school. The adults are teachers, school principals, members of our partner group--Grand Ravine Community Human Rights Council-GH/CHRC. THE GH/CHRC are all volunteers who manage the Bruner Memorial Scholarship Program. The slideshow has been provided by our Haiti liaison, Gentilhomme Jean-Gilles.
You will see personal bags for each student which contain food as well as purified water. The purchase of the food/water was done by our partner GH/CHRC as well as the packing of the 100 personal bags.
We have known that our students have always had a food problem, but our partner, the GH/CHRC has always said that the most important goal is to keep these most impoverished children in school, off the streets and protected from servitude or sex trafficking. So we have never been able to provide any food programs.
Students in orange uniforms are from Mary Magdalen school, in blue/grey uniforms from Brother Mareus school, white/blue from Messiah school, and green/white uniforms, Orion school.,
